She cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2011 with an All India Rank of 291, joining the Indian Administrative Service in the 2012 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. She was appointed as the Meerut Commissioner before this post.
She hails from Amritsar and holds a BSc in Economics from BBK DAV College Amritsar (GNDU) and PG in Computer Science from the University of Madras.
